Game information
Find the Kitten is a logic puzzle played on a board divided into colored regions. Find every hidden kitten while meeting three conditions: exactly one kitten in each row, each column, and each colored region. Kittens cannot occupy neighboring squares, including diagonally adjacent ones. Cross marks help you keep track of deductions, while three lives limit incorrect kitten checks.
How to play Find the Kitten
Choose Play to open the first unfinished campaign level, or Continue to resume a saved puzzle. Choose a level lets you revisit boards you have already unlocked.
- Mark squares you believe cannot contain a kitten.
- Check a kitten position when your deductions support it.
- Use each confirmed kitten to narrow the remaining choices, then repeat until the board is complete.
Regions, crosses, and lives
Each colored region allows exactly one kitten. The no-touching rule covers the eight surrounding squares; kittens may share a diagonal when they are farther apart.
Correct kittens stay locked in place. Checking an incorrect position costs one life, and the third mistake ends that attempt. You can then try the board again. Crosses are editable, penalty-free notes. Clear removes crosses while preserving confirmed kittens and remaining lives.
Campaign and daily puzzle
The campaign contains 3095 prepared levels on boards ranging from 4×4 to 10×10. Complete the current level to unlock the next.
The Daily puzzle uses a separate 11×11 board chosen from 366 prepared puzzles. Its selection follows the current UTC date, so the changeover may occur at a different time from your local midnight. Open the new daily puzzle when the UTC date changes. Today's board can be replayed; its reward is available once.
Coins and supplies
A new profile starts with 200 coins, two hints, and one reveal. Completing the next campaign level for the first time earns 20 coins. Your first win on the current daily puzzle earns 50. Replaying a completed campaign level does not award another 20 coins.
Hint applies and explains one step. It may mark an excluded square, correct a cross, or identify a kitten position. Reveal kitten immediately finds one correct square. The shop sells an additional hint or reveal for 200 coins each.
Saving and playing together
Guest progress stays on the current device. Signed-in players save their personal progress to their account; guest and account saves remain separate. A Save not confirmed message means the game has not yet confirmed that the write succeeded.
Invite a friend to play opens access to a shared board with accepted friends. Up to eight people can take part, including its owner. Visitors can mark squares and find kittens; the owner's personal supplies remain under the owner's control. Visiting another board preserves your own unfinished puzzle. A friend's board does not grant you personal campaign progress or daily rewards.
Tips
- After confirming a kitten, inspect its row, column, region, and neighboring squares for positions you can exclude.
- Look for a region or row with only one remaining position.
- If the board appears impossible, review your crosses. One may be covering a required kitten.
