Game information
Block Boom is a colour-block puzzle played on an 8×8 board. Place shapes, complete rows and columns, and make room for the next pieces. Choose an endless high-score game or a 30-challenge Adventure that builds a castle one victory at a time. The pieces do not fall and there is no countdown, so you can take time to plan a useful combination.
How to play Block Boom
Select Classic for a high-score attempt, or open Adventure and choose an available challenge. Three pieces appear below the board. Drag one into an empty space, or select it first and then tap the top-left cell of its destination. Every block in the piece must fit within the board without overlapping occupied cells.
A placed piece stays on the board. Completely filled horizontal rows and vertical columns clear together. Other blocks remain where they were: there is no gravity pulling them down. The gap left by a cleared line can become the space you need for the next shape.
Use all three pieces before receiving another set. You choose their order. A small piece might clear a path for a large one, while an awkward shape may be easier to place before the board becomes crowded. Pieces cannot be rotated, so check their actual orientation before committing to a position.
Score, combos and space
You earn points for placing blocks and clearing lines. Repeated clears increase your combo, while three moves without clearing a line reset the sequence. A move that completely removes two or more block colours from the board can also award an extra bonus.
The game ends when none of the remaining pieces has a legal placement. This can happen while several cells are still empty. Small separated gaps may be useless for a square or a long piece, so look at the shape of the free space rather than its total size.
Adventure and the castle
Adventure contains 30 successive challenges. Some ask you to reach a score target; others require a number of crystals. A crystal counts when the block containing it is cleared. Simply placing a crystal piece will not collect its crystals: you still need to complete the relevant row or column.
The objective and current progress appear above the board. A victory unlocks the next challenge and adds one castle piece. You can return to completed challenges through the level map. The finished castle has 30 pieces, while Classic continues without a fixed victory target until there is no legal move.
Saves and playing with friends
Signed-in players keep personal results and unfinished boards in their accounts. Guest progress is stored separately on the current device. Continuing restores both the board and the remaining tray pieces, so reopening the game does not replace an inconvenient set.
The shared friends menu supports one cooperative board for accepted friends, with up to eight real participants including the owner. Board changes are synchronized, so another player may occupy a space you were considering. Cooperative results are separate from solo Adventure progress; joining somebody else's game does not award pieces of your personal castle.
Tips
- Find a possible destination for all three pieces before placing the first one.
- Preserve a large open area instead of leaving many isolated holes.
- Look for intersections where a single placement can finish both a row and a column.
- In crystal challenges, plan around the marked blocks rather than chasing score alone.
- Do not take a small bonus if it leaves no suitable space for the remaining shape.

Sudoku offers another relaxed board puzzle, using numbers and logical constraints instead of coloured shapes. In Dominoes, considering the pieces available and keeping a useful next move is also an important part of planning.
