Game information

Mahjong 3D is a classic tile solitaire game on a three-dimensional green table. Find matching free tiles, remove them in pairs, and clear all 144 tiles from the pyramid. Choose from nine layouts, zoom in on the traditional symbols, and rotate the view to inspect the layers.

How to play Mahjong 3D

Select the layout name in the main menu to choose a shape. The first layout is the traditional Turtle, with a broad base, several upper layers, and a single tile at its peak. Select Start a game. If an unfinished game exists on this device or in your account, Continue game restores that exact board.

Choose one free tile, then another with the same symbol. A valid pair lifts off the table and disappears. The pairs-left counter decreases, and newly uncovered tiles become available. Clear every tile to finish the board.

Which tiles are free?

A tile is free when nothing covers it and at least one horizontal side, left or right, is open. Space in front of or behind a tile is not enough. A partly visible tile may still be covered by an upper layer.

The set includes circles, bamboo, characters, winds, and dragons. Ordinary pairs must have matching symbols and numbers. Flowers form their own matching group: different flower designs can pair with one another. The four season tiles follow the same group rule. A bright frame marks your selection, while Hint highlights a playable pair.

Hint, Undo, and Shuffle

Hint reveals an available pair and, when necessary, moves the camera so both tiles are visible. Undo restores the previous removed pair. If there are no available matches, try another earlier decision or select Shuffle. Shuffling preserves the remaining set of tiles and prepares a solvable arrangement for them. Using assistance does not reset the timer.

Every starting layout is created with a verified sequence that clears the board. Choosing different pairs can still lead to a dead end; the assistance tools let you continue such a game. The result records whether assistance was used.

View controls and saved games

Zoom with the mouse wheel, the minus and plus buttons, or a two-finger gesture. Drag the felt to inspect the edges. Whole board restores an overview, and Rotate view changes the angle of the 3D table. On a phone, the initial view keeps the tiles larger; pan across the board to examine the outer rows.

Guest progress stays separate on the current device. Signed-in players retain their own unfinished layout, results, and settings in their account. Accepted friends can use the shared invitation button to clear one table together, without replacing a visitor's personal saved board with the host's board. Pause and the friends menu suspend local gameplay controls.

Tips

  • Open the upper layers and long side rows early to create more choices.
  • When several tiles share a symbol, compare which ones are blocking their neighbours. The first possible pair is not always the most useful.
  • A visible symbol does not necessarily mean a playable tile. A tile blocked on both horizontal sides remains unavailable.
  • Zoom in and inspect the outside rows before asking for a hint.
