Solitaire Games — Work Through the Layout and Unlock New Moves

Solitaire usually involves putting cards in order or clearing a layout. Rules vary: cards may be collected by suit, moved in alternating colors, or removed through matching combinations. Before starting, learn where cards should go and which moves your chosen version allows.

Watch face-down cards and empty spaces carefully. A move that reveals an unknown card often creates more opportunities than simply rearranging cards already in view. Consider the consequences, though: an empty column may be needed for a particular card, and filling it too early can make the rest of the layout harder to solve.

Do not rush to draw from the stock before checking the moves available on the board. If undo is supported, compare different sequences. Remember that solitaire variants have different rules for going through the stock again, filling empty spaces, and completing a round.

Start with a familiar version, then try an unusual layout. Controls generally involve selecting and moving cards, although individual games may use their own commands. This collection offers a relaxed round in which finding a useful sequence of actions gradually turns a difficult arrangement into an understandable system.
